Title: Petroleum Developments in Middle East Countries in 1975

Abstract:

Petroleum production in Middle East countries in 1975 totaled 7,199,302,000 bbl at an average rate of 19,504,937 b/d, down 10% from 1974. Principal production increases were in Iraq, Oman, and Syria; main decreases were in Iran, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.

There were substantial new discoveries in Iran and Saudi Arabia. One new field was reported in Syria.

The main areas of exploratory work were in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Turkey. New areas were explored on and offshore Iran and in Syria, where a new field started production in May 1975.
