Title: Age of Frontier Formation in North-Central Utah: GEOLOGIC NOTES

Author(s): Thomas A. Ryer (2)

Abstract:

Previous investigators have placed the Lower Cretaceous-Upper Cretaceous boundary at or near the base of the Frontier Formation in north-central Utah. Though the exact position cannot be determined, the available faunal evidence indicates that the boundary should be placed near the middle of the nonmarine Chalk Creek Member of the Frontier Formation, 1,300 to 1,700 ft (400 to 500 m) higher than has been suggested previously.
