Abstract:
Drilling activity in Oklahoma and the Panhandle of Texas increased again in 1979 both in number of wells drilled and footage cut, but exploratory tests decreased. Success rates improved except for exploratory drilling in Texas. Oklahoma success for wildcats went up to 39%. Six deep tests went below 20,000 ft. Of more than 7,000 wells drilled in the province, 13 producers and 6 dry holes are considered especially significant.
