Title: Sequence of Formation of Back-Limb Thrusts and Imbrications: Implications for Development of Idaho-Wyoming Thrust Belt

Author(s): Peter B. Jones (2)

Article Type: Meeting abstract

Abstract:

Computer-synthesized structural cross sections show that back-limb thrusts or splays of larger thrusts may form in the same sequence as the regional development of a thrust belt. The computer models are independent of scale and are pertinent to both small-scale "imbricate" structures and larger scale problems such as the timing of the Darby and Prospect thrusts in the Wyoming thrust belt.
