Abstract:

In 1983, drilling in north-central Texas decreased by 2.1% from the 1982 level. The success rate for exploratory drilling increased slightly to 24.5%. Total footage drilled decreased 9.2% from the 1982 figure. Significant discoveries were made in Throckmorton and Young Counties. Hardeman County continued to have major activity.
