It is important to note that unlike the concept of the centroid, which relies on recent tilting of the sand body to produce differential pressures, in the case of intrusions, it is their crosscutting and tendency to intrude subvertically that lead to the pressure transfer and drainage, if connected at depth to more overpressured units.
