The Rocky Mountain Succession at Beehive Pass, Alberta1

D. K. Norris

ABSTRACT

The late Paleozoic Rocky Mountain formation at Beehive Pass, in the High Rock Range, is readily divisible into two units: a thick upper sandstone succession, and a thin lower unit consisting of interbedded sandy dolomites, sandstones and siltstones. The lower unit is defined as the Todhunter member.

Several exposures of the Rocky Mountain formation are discussed, and it is concluded that the faunal evidence does not sustain the obvious lithological correlation.
