Heavy Minerals of the Athabasca Sandstone

C. P. Gravenor

ABSTRACT

Thin section and heavy mineral studies made on the sandstones found north and south of Lake Athabasca incidate that there are major differences between the Martin Lake arkose and the Athabasca sandstone. It is believed that the sandstones found at Fidler Point represent a remnant of the source rocks of the Athabasca sandstone.
