Abstract
A Profile of Structural Gravity Survey on the North Sturgeon Lake Field
ABSTRACT
The gravity method is capable of mapping reef structure, provided rigid standards are maintained in carrying out survey and measurements, and applying corrections. This is illustrated by recent results from the North Sturgeon Lake field, where one-eighth mile spacing was used. The interpretation has been made from isopach residuals calculated on the basis of a method developed by the author. The information obtainable is somewhat limited by ambiguities inherent in gravity work. It is concluded, nevertheless, that the techniques employed can be entirely successful in following up geological trends from known areas into the unknown.
