The Misinterpreted Middle Devonian of Saskatchewan

C. H. Crickmay

ABSTRACT

There appears to be a discrepancy in the prevailing correlation of Saskatchewan Middle Devonian. Two views on this have been put forward: Mitchell in 1951 correlated with the Winnipegosis formation a certain subsurface interval that Baillie in 1953 attempted to correlate with Dawson Bay formation. Evidence is reviewed and this leads to the conclusion that the neglected Mitchell view is the more accurate one.
