Abstract
Caledonian Earth Movements in The Vicinity of End Mountain and South Fork Ghost River, Alberta, Canada
ABSTRACT
At End Mountain, Alberta, spectacular angularity between accepted Cambrian strata and the Ghost River Formation lends weight to the thesis that the Ghost River is Devonian. It post-dates an orogenic and metamorphic event of variable intensity very dissimilar in type to that of the superimposed Laramide movement. Conclusions that Caledonian deformation affected the area are reinforced by a collection from the Ghost River of Devonian plants a few feet above the angular discordance and fish remains higher in the section.
