ABSTRACT
Cores from the Nordegg member from several boreholes yielded fossil oysters with the acquired foreign ornament of a species of ammonite. A hypothesis to account for this is developed, and the oyster is described and named; it is noted that an oyster with recognizable ammonite ornament is of value as a zone fossil.
