The Permo-Carboniferous Section at Mount Greenock

J. W. Hawryszko, R.S. Hamilton

ABSTRACT

The Permo-Carboniferous at Mount Greenock consists, in ascending order, of the Pekisko, Shunda and Debolt (?) Formations and the Rocky Mountain Group. The Shunda Formation is divided into a lower member of fine-grained and pelleted limestone, and an upper member, designated the Jasper Lake Member, of coarse dolomitized crinoidal rock. The Jasper Lake Member is a local facies of the Shunda and should not be referred to as the Turner Valley Formation.
