ABSTRACT
The sediments consist of mainly quartz, minor feldspar and kaolinite, and a trace of chlorite and illite. Illite occurs in the fossiliferous sediments (marine), whereas degraded illite occurs in the non-fossiliferous sediments (non-marine).
