Abstract
Integration of Foraminiferal and Dinoflagellate Data Sets in Quantitative Stratigraphy of the Grand Banks and Labrador Shelf
ABSTRACT
Data sets of different biological nature are merged in an attempt to obtain a more complete regional zonation of fossils in time. Cenozoic dinoflagellates and foraminifera are simultaneously ranked and scaled in time with the help of a statistical model. Preliminary results indicate that this process of integration results in an increase in stratigraphic resolution of the regional biozones and a minor reordering of concurrent events.
