Dating and Correlating the Permian of the Glass Mountains in Texas
Abstract
On the basis of the predominance of faunal evidence, a principle discussed herein, it is recommended that the Uddenites-bearing Shale Member of the Gaptank Formation be placed in the Wolfcamp Series. The same recommendation and for the same reason indicates the Wolfcamp age of the Skinner Ranch Formation. The Leonard age of the Road Canyon Formation is discussed and the correlation of the various Glass Mountains formations in west Texas is indicated.
