The Permian-Triassic Boundary in Transcaucasia

K. O. Rostovtsev, N. R. Azaryan

Abstract

The Claraia beds of Transcausasia have yielded Ophiceras and Gyro-nites and are thus considered to be of Lower Triassic age. The underlying strata, including the Phisonites through Paratirolites beds, are of Late Permian age and are proposed as the type section of a new stage, the Dorashamian.
