Conodonts of the Skala and Borschov horizons of Podolia
Abstract
A study of more than 800 samples from the Silurian-Devonian boundary beds of Podolia was undertaken in 1965.
An abundance of conodonts characteristic of Walliser’s 11th eosteinhornensis Conodont Zone, corresponding to the upper third of the eβ2 horizon of Czechoslovakia, was found in the Skala horizon.
The Borschov horizon contains the zonal form Icriodus woschmidti Ziegler in association with other forms indicative of Walliser’s 12-th woschmidti zone, corresponding to the eγ horizon of Czechoslovakia.
