logs. Since the two types of logs are constructed
from different data sources there are predictable differences between them. Seismically
derived sonic logs limit definition of both thin beds (0 to 60 ft; 0 to 18 m) and thick
beds (300 to 1,000 ft; 90 to 300 m) in Jurassic strata. Analysis of filtered sonic logs
provides a means of determining the frequency content of seismic data and ascertaining the
amount of information that can be obtained from it.
