Water
Drives in the New Hope Field, Franklin County, Texas
Albert S. Trube, Jr.

ABSTRACT
water
drives are "primary" in the sense that
displacement takes place above
saturation
pressure; they are "artificial" in the
sense that the
water
does not come in naturally from an aquifer; and they are
"frontal" in nature as opposed to the pattern types of
water
drives now used in
many secondary recovery operations. This terminology is compatible with the present usage
of such terms as "primary recovery"; "secondary recovery"; and
"pressure maintenance".
