Tennessee Colony Field Anderson County, Texas

Reid M. Waltman(*)

ABSTRACT

The Tennessee Colony Field is located in west-central Anderson County, Texas. The producing formations are the Rodessa and Pettit limestones. The field was discovered by a subsurface and gravity lead detailed by seismograph. Production occurs at 8,800 to 9,000 feet and at 9,600 feet. The structure is a faulted, elongated anticline, superimposed on a major structural trend. However, local variations in porosity and permeability are so important to oil accumulation and production in this field that structural factors are sometimes nullified. There are 25 producing wells and 2 dry holes to date. Field limits remain undefined as development continues.
