An Introduction to the Operational Application of Limestone Thin Sections

R. E. Chancellor

ABSTRACT

Present operational techniques for discovering carbonate reservoirs which contain producible hydrocarbons need refinement. In areas of poor subsurface control, thin section examination of limestones is a valuable tool to the binocular microscopist in that petrographic study lends qualitative accuracy to porosity determinations and descriptive precision to facies analyses.

The manufacture of thin sections for this purpose in the operational office is feasible Previous HitfromNext Hit the viewpoints of space, speed and equipment required.
