A Structural Analysis of the Delta Farms Field Lafourche Parish, Louisiana with Notes on the Stratigraphy

A. L. Morgan

ABSTRACT

The structural conditions underlying, and causing the Delta Farms Field major oil reserve are described as due to two elongate domes or ridges on opposite sides of the field. The field is crossed by a fault system related to basinward slumpage. Faulting was active during the entire depositional sequence and materially affected the shape of the structure, the distribution of hydrocarbon reservoirs, and the thickness of material deposited. A section of bathyal Miocene, neritic Miocene, continental Miocene-Pliocene, neritic Pleistocene, and continental Pleistocene to Recent is described
