Abstract
Seismic Survey in the North East Java Basin
Abstract
A four phase survey was carried out in the Northeast Java Basin from December 1971 to June 1975, covering an area of about 12.000 square kilometers.
Approximately 4000 kilometres of seismic line were shot. Data quality varied from poor to very good, depending on surface conditions, the tectonic complexity of the area and the field efforts and processing parameters employed.
In order to optimize data quality a number experimental programmes were conducted during the survey, both on field techniques and processing parameters.
Currently two thirds of the data acquired has been interpreted.
The survey has confirmed the presence of several major structural features previously indicated by surface geology and gravity data.
