A User's Description of Machinery Failure Caused by Electromagnetism

Abstract
In January 1988, Mobil Oil Indonesia experienced a seal system failure on one of its three injection compressor trains. New seals and rotor were installed in one compressor barrel and the train was placed back on line. Within hours a similar failure occurred on the second barrel. This paper will describe the failures.
