WELLTESTING EVALUATION FROM DESIGN, OPERATION, AND SIMULATION MODELS ON GAS EXPLORATION WELL CASES
ABSTRACT
Drilling Rayeu C-1A in 2024 is the exploration phase of the Rayeu C field. It is particularly difficult to handle and analyze well testing simulation models and operations with minimal data in order to find a model that accurately captures the reservoir’s features. The well testing design applied is the Flow after Flow modified approach.
The FAF modified method differs in the use of chokes and the amount of time spent flowing per choke. The Flow Observation data for the choke employed differed from the original design; the decision was taken to prevent condensate banking. The Design Well Testing (WT) Simulation Model, which was previously intended to reach a fault-like boundary, has changed due to the possibility of encountering a geological boundary before reaching the intended fault, as well as changes in skin caused by liquid loading, making the simulation difficult to match. This paper will present the lessons learned from the well testing process, including design, operationally, and simulation models used in accordance with reservoir characteristics, wellbore parameters, and investigation radius obtained with several uncertainties that occurred during the Rayeu C-1A well testing, concluding that this well is reduced testing time and improved recovery estimates.
