Abstract

This paper deals with the influence of tectonic factors on the distribution and generation of oil and gas accumulations in oil- and gas-bearing basins on ancient platforms. Three main platform evolutionary stages, with their corresponding structural-formational associations, may be recognized; the petroleum potential of each stage is different.
