In his discussion of my 1993 paper, Hossack (1994) presented the BP and Exxon Previous HitinterpretationNext Hit of the mode of emplacement of Previous HitsaltNext Hit at different levels in Tertiary sediments on the north side of the Gulf of Mexico Basin. This Previous HitinterpretationNext Hit ascribes Previous HitsaltNext Hit emplacement to repetitive extrusion of Jurassic Previous HitsaltNext Hit onto the sea bed in the form of Previous HitsaltNext Hit glaciers. This concept differs from Shell's Previous HitinterpretationNext Hit of Previous HitsaltNext Hit nappes (Worrall and Snelson, 1989) as well as Texaco's and Amoco's preference for Previous HitsaltNext Hit sills (Liro, 1992; Spencer and Sharpe, 1993). All these interpretations and many others accept, as a basic premise, that all the Previous HitsaltTop is Jurassic.
