ABSTRACT

This study is concerned with the investigation of present production and future hydrocarbon possibilities in Paleozoic sediments in the South Regina Area. The stratigraphy has been well covered by numerous authors. Some of the more recent publications include: on the Lower Paleozoics: Porter and Fuller (1959), Evans (1960) and Kent (1960); Devonian: Sandberg and Hammond (1958) and Edie (1959); Mississippian: Fuzesy (1960). The present authors, therefore, have confined this paper primarily to structural aspects and the role these may have played in the migration and entrapment of petroleum and natural gas. Prominent structural features and producing fields in the area are discussed, with emphasis on determining how similar, potentially productive, structures may be found.
