Arthur Pentland

ABSTRACT

The light minerals of the Franconia and Mazomanie sandstones are quartz, glauconite. feldspar and dolomite. The chief heavy detritals are garnet, tourmaline, zircon, white mica, limonitized glauconite, opaque minerals and shell fragments. It is concluded that the Mazomanie should be correlated with the upper part of the Franconia.
