Sedimentation of Colorado River in Runnels and Coleman Counties, Texas

ABSTRACT

The deposits of the Colorado River of Texas consists of clay, sand, pebbles, and boulders. The pebbles and boulders are composed primarily of limestone. The percentage of abrasion of the pebbles is greater than 75 per cent. The abundant minerals are quartz, magnetite, hematite, zircon, tourmaline, rutile, and leucoxene.
