Phase Sampling of Sediments

ABSTRACT
Sampling for sedimentary analyses involves selecting a part to represent the whole of a certain mass of sediments. It is submitted here that the unit mass sampled for basic studies should be the phase, representing as far as possible one period of fluctuation of the transporting capacity of the transporting agent.
