Abstract
Volcanic Sediments in North Texas
Raymond Sidwell, Richmond L. Bronaugh
ABSTRACT
Volcanic sediments, known as pumicite, ranging in thickness from eight inches to 35 feet are present in North Texas. The materials accumulated in basins which had been almost filled with recent sediments. The pumicite was erupted during two periods of igneous activity. The first (oldest) was probably in late Pliocene; the youngest was in Pleistocene.
