Abstract
Missouri River Sediments in River Water, Ocean Water, and Sodium Oxalate Solution
W. D. Keller, Richard Foley
ABSTRACT
The mud suspended in Missouri River flood water was mechanically analyzed by measuring its sedimentation in river water, N/100 sodium oxalate solution, and in saline ocean water. Radically different results were obtained from the three different liquid suspensions. The "correct" mechanical analysis of an argillaceous rock may be debatable. Analytical data may hold value in interpreting the history of the rocks.
