Abstract
The Nature of Corrosion Zones in the Middle Ordovician of Minnesota
N. Prokopovich
ABSTRACT
So-called corrosion zones are very common in the sedimentary rocks of the Upper Middle Ordovician in southeastern Minnesota and adjoining areas. They are usually represented by more or less irregular corrosion surfaces with a microconglomeratic covering. Both surfaces and covering have been produced by the mechanical erosion and chemical solution of the sediment on the sea floor through the action of bottom currents.
