Differential Surface Weathering of Bighorn Dolomite

ABSTRACT
The Bighorn dolomite was examined to determine the cause of its uneven weathering surface. Samples collected from two localities at the southeast end of the Wind River Range in Wyoming were found to contain quartz and opal in small patches which account for the very rough outcrop surface.
