Abstract
Clay Minerals from the Rot Member of the Triassic Near Gottingen, Germany
Friedrich Lippmann
ABSTRACT
This paper includes a description of the clay mineral composition of the Rot member of the Triassic near Gottingen, Germany. The important constituent is a "swelling chlorite" with a regular mixed layer structure for which the name "corrensite" was suggested in an earlier paper. A considerable part of the paper is devoted to the specific properties of corrensite, particularly after treatment with several exchangeable cations.
