Abstract
Caliche of Central and Southern Llano Estacado, Texas: NOTES
C. C. Reeves, Jr., J. D. Suggs
ABSTRACT
Caliche of the central and southern Llano Estacado of Texas consists primarily of CaCO3, SiO2, clay, silt, and small sporadic percentages of CaSO4, various heavy minerals, and volcanic shards.
The CaCO3 percentage of the caliche surprisingly exhibits regionally mappable trends. Discovery of these trends which obviously are of geologic interest and importance may, by further delineation, increase the economic potentialities of the caliche.
