Sieving Characteristics of Symmetrical Tabular Grains with Any Roundness Value: NOTES

Basanta K. Sahu (2)

ABSTRACT

Shape and roundness affect the size (intermediate diameter) of symmetrical tabular grains which, in turn, controls the sieving characteristics of the particles. The relation between intermediate diameter, shape (c/b), and roundness (P) has been derived in the form of an equation. Tables and graphs are given showing the variation in the intermediate diameter with shape (c/b ranging from zero to unity) and roundness (P ranging from zero to unity) values.
