Crystal Molds in Dolomite: Their Origin and Environmental Interpretation: NOTES

C. H. Summerson

ABSTRACT

Dolomite containing crystal molds of gypsum has been found in the Salina rocks of northern Ohio. Several occurrences of such molds had been previously reported from scattered localities. Associated fossils and sedimentary structural evidence indicates that the molds may be used as markers for a penesaline environment of deposition.
