Abstract
Zeolitic Diagenesis of Mio-pliocene Rocks of the Silver Peak Range, Esmeralda County, Nevada
Paul T. Robinson
ABSTRACT
Vitric material in Miocene and Pliocene tuffs and tuffaceous sedimentary rocks of the Silver Peak Range of western Nevada has been extensively altered to zeolites, clay minerals, and celadonite. Widespread distribution of the altered rocks indicates a diagenetic origin. The alteration took place after burial under the influence of alkaline and saline groundwater solutions.
