Abstract
Analcite in the Upper Karroo Sediments, Herschel District, South Africa: NOTES
A. O. Fuller, G. J. Moir
ABSTRACT
The presence of analcite is reported from a suite of specimens from the upper levels of the Karroo System, South Africa, and its use as a stratigraphic marker of climatological significance discussed. Its origin is considered to be connected with a period of hydrothermal alteration of alkali-enriched sediments during Stormberg volcanicity.
