Abstract
Azimuthal Relationship Between Cross-stratification and Current Markings in Flysch Deposits: Upper Precambrian of Central Dobrogea, Romania
Dan Jipa
ABSTRACT
The azimuths of cross-strata and current markings in individual sedimentation units within the Upper Precambrian flysch of Dobrogea, Romania have been mapped, separately. Although discrepancies of up to 86° have been found, the azimuths of these two kinds of structures display the same trends. Therefore, erosional structures (current marks) are thought to be adequate indicators of depositional currents.
