Simple and Effective Device for Gravity Separation of Heavy Mineral Grains: NOTES

ABSTRACT
For satisfactory gravity separation of different heavy mineral species from a very small sample of heavy mineral grains, a simple separatory device made of two connected tubes was constructed. This device was very effective in providing clean separation with minimum loss of heavy liquid and grains and least operator exposure. Concurrent use of two separatory devices greatly accelerates the fractionation procedure.
