Abstract
Hoof-print Structures in Beach Sand: NOTES
G. J. Van Der Lingen, Peter B. Andrews
ABSTRACT
Complicated structures in Recent beach sands were seen to be related to circular depressions of the beach surface at about the upper limit of swash. The structures were interpreted to be either products of `air-heave', or consequent upon deformation of normal beach stratification by horse-hooves. Trials showed that the structures are matched by horse-hoof prints partly modified and infilled by swash.
