Abstract
Diagenetic Dedolomitization in the Albian-Cenomanian Yagur Dolomite on Mount Carmel (Northern Israel): NOTES
Yehoshua Folkman
ABSTRACT
Two forms of dedolomitization were found in the Yagur Dolomite:
1. Dedolomitic limestone which underlies a disconformity surface with a close association of high concentrations of iron oxides. This dedolomitization is genetically connected with the unconformity and the iron oxides.
2. Dedolomitization products, in subrecent to recent weathering crusts, were formed in the meteoric weathering zone under certain climatic conditions, thus exhibiting a recent environment for diagenetic dedolomitization.
