ABSTRACT
Previous methods for evaluating the c-axis (shortest dimension) of sand-sized particles have proven impractical and have not been widely utilized. This paper describes a new method which permits rapid and accurate c-axis measurement of numbers of sand grains. With this technique, sand samples can be simply and efficiently sorted according to c-axis values.
