A Hydraulic Corer for Use in Water Saturated Sediment: NOTES
John A. Gifford (2)
A suction corer utilizing an expendable plastic core liner was developed to sample sand strata in the tidal-flat environment. The device is lightweight, simple to operate, and contains a minimum number of moving parts. With it, continuous cores up to 10 ft in length and retaining sediment interstitial water were obtained.
