Density-Separation Apparatus: NOTES

ABSTRACT
The apparatus consists of a glass separatory flask having a large-bore stopcock connected through a ground-glass joint to a filter funnel. A vent below the stopcock permits separate removal of top and bottom fractions. This arrangement facilitates recovery of the heavy liquid as well as washing and recovery of both separated fractions.
