Abstract
A Note on Three Unusual Sedimentary Structures in Sandstone of the Auborus Formation, South West Africa
R. McG. Miller
ABSTRACT
Three unusual sedimentary structures are described. An exact displaced image of mud cracks on the same bedding plane surface as the mud cracks themselves may have been produced during deformation. Parallel, low, uneven ridges were probably formed by sand-laden wind passing over damp exposed sediment on which the sand became trapped. It is suggested that numerous, low mounds on a bedding plane surface were produced by large, closely-spaced rain drops falling on dry unconsolidated sand.
